Tabby Tuesday with Jack

Jack hunting in the weeds

Lots of activity with Jack (our neighbor's cat) hunting in our yard.Mom caught the action as he nabbed a vole - pretty exciting since we don't get to hunt unless a stray mouse wanders inside!

Got the vole!

Wanting to play with it.
Mom tried to rescue the vole from Jack but he kept running away before she could pick him up.  He was a tiny little thing.

Vole
We won't show you the rest of the action - not that mom took any pics of Jack snacking on the vole!  He keeps our crawlspace under the house pest free!

We hope that any of you who lie int he Midwest are OK and not suffering from the tornadoes.  We are purring for all the peeps and critters in that area!

Snoopervising on Tabby Tuesday

Something verrrry interesting is going on outside.  Tabitha and Woody can't tear themselves away from the  window!  What do you think they are watching?

Is it pony TV?

  Bird TV?

  Squirrel TV?

Or goat TV?

Nope!  it is just our neighbor Jack doing his own snoopervising of the critters in the old tree stump.

Thank you all for the bids and donations for Snowball's auction.  We got that paid off pretty much.  Mom is still trying to find a Nancy who won two bids on a pottery bowl and necklace.  Does anyone know a Nancy who blogs or has cats? Let Mom know please - she is stumped as to who she is.

Whapping Tabby Tuesday

Tabitha and Woody are hoping for a bit of attention from Yoko who is lounging on her snuggle bag.

Tabitha gives up but Woody is more optimistic - he loves a grooming but he know that can come at a risk!

WHAP - that was what he got instead of some loving licks!  Oh well better luck next time.

Snowball is doing well - he is grumpy at the food changes but otherwise OK.  Last call for the auction for him - it ends at midnight on Jan 30!  Check it out and make the last bid.  Snowball's Auction Blog.

Tabby Tuesday with Yoko

Mom let me do the blog today.  I am a very old lady of 18 and I don't clean my furs as well as I used to but I do like my face and paws looking spiffy.

Gotta get lots of spit on the furs to make them shiny clean. Mom hates the hocking noise I make to get some saliva going but I gotta do what I gotta do.

There, now I am done and I get to sit toasty warm for a nap on my favorite place in the winter  - the heater!  What is your favorite place to nap?

Two Takers fur Tabby Tuesday

Mom here today to tell you about our two tabbies Tabitha and Woody.  Both of them loved to be licked and loved by other cats but they are both takers not givers.  They haven't quite figured that one out.  Here Tabitha spots Woody and is moving in for a bit of loving while Woody is thinking the same.

She tries rubbing up against Woody to warm him up.

Woody is hoping she will do the same for him and sits patiently waiting for his lovin'

This can go on for a long while  with both of them trying to get the other to groom.. Lots of head butts, rubbin', purring and don't I look cute looks but to no avail.  They just haven't figured out they gotta give in order to get.

Tabitha is really truing hard to get some while Woody is hoping by sitting real quiet Tabitha will lavish some  on him!.

Finally she gives up and yawns.  Time for a nap. Poor Woody looks sooo disappointed.  Who are the givers and takers in your house?

Tabitha on Tabby Tuesday

Here I am playing a fun game. It's called "attack Mom's feets under the covers." It's a lot of fun bu sometimes I guess I get carried away.
"
"What Mom?" "Don't Bite" she says. But that's the best part - that along with bunny kicking the feets. Oh well I guess I have to settle for cuddles and scritches instead. Have a great day ya'll!

Two for - Tabby Tuesday

It's me Joey - the tabby in the front of the basket.

You remember Tabitha. Mom brought her in a while back cuz Al was picking on her. Well we have become basket buddies - sunning in the window together. She is a bit young (I am 11 and she is 4) and still has to learn her manners with us older cats tho.

She is also very squirmy and never sits still - I just want to chill out and nap. She just doesn't get it! First her foot is on me, then I get almost shoved out completely! Sheez - young 'uns!!!!

Oh well - Mom and Pop love her so I guess she isn't all bad. She just has to get used to being a little more gentle and quiet with us senior cats. Time will tell! For more Cats on Tuesday be sure to stop by Gattina's!

Tabitha on Tabby Tuesday

You may remember that Mom brought me inside from our shelter because Al was picking on me...well I am doing very well. The other cats either ignore me or accept me. This will get better with time.

I don't mind the other cats and run all over the house. I like to look out the windows, sleep on the bed and play with Mamacita and Rosa. I was friends with them both before. I think they remember me!

I think Mom made the right move to bring me in.

Tabby Tuesday

We have four lovely tabbies at Wildcat Woods. Here is Woody surveying his screen porch with a white buddy - not sure who this is.

Tabitha is a sweet kitty and very loving - one of a few ladycats in all the boys of this group. She can hold her own with the guys tho!

Yoko is all elongated in this old photo from when she was a younger ladycat! I haven't seen her do this in a long time.

Here is my buddy Joe with a little drool on his lip - he is quite the lover with the cats and us.

Hope you enjoyed seeing our tabbies!

Tabby Tuesday - Here's Joey!

Joey on the well house, looking in the window!

It's time to meet Joey...Hi everybody! I am the only mancat inside the house and I like it like that! I get to snuggle with all the ladycats all the time.

I was born a feral cat outside in the fall of 1999 with my sister Minnie, Leroy and Nick. Leroy disappeared when he was about six months old and we never found out what happened to him. He was a neat brother and I loved him lots. Nick came inside for a short while cuz he was sick and Mom took care of him until he went to the Bridge. I miss him too.

We all lived under an old trailer in the neighbor's yard. It was all we had to keep us warm during the long winter. Mom first noticed us coming out from under the trailer when we were about 6-8 weeks old on warmer sunny days and playing with each other. She did not know who our mom was - she never saw any ladycats with us.

Mom had built a neat shelter in her yard and the other cats were going over there to eat and play and be warm. When we got big enough we went there too and liked it. She gave us all yummy food, water and lots of toys. We liked the plastic eggs to bat around the yard.

Minnie sitting on Joey's cage on the porch.

She had been putting a big cage out and catching us one by one to get neutered. We were afraid of the cage at first - all my buddies would disappear for a day or so and then they would be back and be OK! So we did not mind the cage anymore. I did not want to go inside so when I was old enough I became a man without being neutered. That was not good though. Big Guy, the head cat of our group, told me I had to find another place to live since he was the main mancat. I hated to leave but that is what we have to do in the wild.

I moved down the street but Mom was so upset. She worried about me all the time. She finally caught me in the cage and I got neutered but it was too late - Big Guy still would not let me back in the group. I came by everyday for food and liked to sit on the well house looking in the kitchen window when Mom and Pop were doing dishes or cooking. They talked to me and told me they loved me.

Brother and sister playing inside.

A year or so went by and I began having fights with other cats - I am a lover boy so I think someone was picking on me. I came home with a big swollen paw and hid in the shelter. Mom closed the shelter door and when Pop came home they tricked me into coming out in the cage again. They took me to a vet and she fixed up my paw for me. They let me back outside but wouldn't you know I got into another scrap and got another abscess. Each time Mom fixed me up with homeopathic remedies - she put them in my food and my wound opened and drained without her having to go to the vet again with me.

Finally, it was Thanksgiving and again I had another swollen paw! That was it!!! Mom propped the porch door open and I just walked inside. She closed it and I got scared and hid behind the extra refrigerator out there. They spent all morning trying to catch me on the porch even though she was trying to cook the turkey! Pop caught me and I got put in a big kennel cage with food, water and a litter box. Mom decided I was going to be an inside cat now with my sister Minnie. I graduated from the cage to my own room and then to being allowed in the house with everyone else. Minnie helped me learn how to be inside and live with the other cats. I love my sister!

Well that was my story. I am ten now and love my Mom and Pop. I have lots of brothers and sisters and get along with everyone. I am real mellow and probably would not have lived this long outside - it is really tough out there. I am lucky - one lucky cat huh?

Tabby Tuesday

Hi I am Tabitha and I like to hide in boxes mostly cuz my brother Al (the blue eyed deaf one) picks on me.

Looks like he is sleeping...I think it is safe to come out now!

Yup..He won't know I am out and will be napping for a while now. I wish he would be nicer to me. Some days he is but not on other days!
