Friends Friday - Full Moon Farm

As you may already know April is Prevent Cruelty to Animals Month sponsored by ASPCA.  We are supporting them by doing posts about animals in need and by wearing orange to show our support!

Today we are featuring some special friends of ours from Full Moon Farm in Black Mountain, NC.  This wonderful place rescues and provides a forever home for abandoned and abused wolfdogs - dogs that have been bred with wolves.  There are just a few shelters in the US that are set up to take them and this is one of the best.

Pearl is the official greeter and lives there along with several other cats.

Banjo likes to sit on the roof of his house.

They have been having a hard time in this lately in this down economy and could use some extra help and support.  The have 17 acres of private wooded land to house all the beautiful wolfdogs.  They are a 501 (c)3 wolfdog rescue and sanctuary founded in 2002. In the past 8 years they have rescued over 400 wolfdogs and evaluated or transported over 175, as they would have been euthanized.

Once a month they host a Howl-in where folks can tour the grounds and enjoy a potluck supper next to a roaring fire pit.  Mom went to this and met the great bunch of people who run the sanctuary and of course the wolfdogs.  If you would like to read more about them visit Mom's other blog and read her post.  Please do check out Full Moon Farm's website and Facebook page.

Beautiful Belle.
Pass this on, join their Facebook page, donate  - just help out in any way you can!  Go orange for April!

Two Takers fur Tabby Tuesday

Mom here today to tell you about our two tabbies Tabitha and Woody.  Both of them loved to be licked and loved by other cats but they are both takers not givers.  They haven't quite figured that one out.  Here Tabitha spots Woody and is moving in for a bit of loving while Woody is thinking the same.

She tries rubbing up against Woody to warm him up.

Woody is hoping she will do the same for him and sits patiently waiting for his lovin'

This can go on for a long while  with both of them trying to get the other to groom.. Lots of head butts, rubbin', purring and don't I look cute looks but to no avail.  They just haven't figured out they gotta give in order to get.

Tabitha is really truing hard to get some while Woody is hoping by sitting real quiet Tabitha will lavish some  on him!.

Finally she gives up and yawns.  Time for a nap. Poor Woody looks sooo disappointed.  Who are the givers and takers in your house?
