Snow, Santa and Secret Paws

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas.  We have been snow bound for the past three days with the power going off and on!  Mom and Pop keep saying they have Cabin Fever - sure hope it is not contagious!

We got lots to share with you.  First off we got 8" of white stuff outside and it was pretty the first day but then the high winds and chilling cold came and made it scary to be outdoors.  We preferred to sit inside and look out at the birds.

Lily and Only checking out the crinkle sack.

Sweetpea and Mamacita laying with the new toys.

Santa gave us great stuff this year - Temptations and some new stuff called Catnip Delights made by The Goodlife Recipe - yum, those were real good.  We got a scratching board for the house and shelter, some Kookamunga Krazee Kitty catnip bubbles and a Furminator - whatever that is.  We wore out our tunnel and Mom said Santa would bring us one but he wasn't able to find one.  Instead we got a crinkle sack that can be opened at both ends - it's neat.  We all got salmon for breakfast on Christmas - that was delicious! Of course lots of little crinkle balls, bitty balls and toys for us to bat around.

Two Spot chasing catnip bubbles.

Al enjoying his salmon.

We joined Secret Paws this year but instead of gifts for us, Mom asked to have the presents donated to our local no-kill shelter Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville, NC. The Florida Furkids of Friends FurEver were our Secret Paws and they were great - donating to Santa Paws Drive plus they sent a gift package  to the shelter.  We wrote about it on the Secret Paws blog. Thank you for the donations!

We got lots of Christmas cards - mailed and virtual - thanks to all for thinking of us over the holidays.  We will post them this week. Hopefully the wind will die down and the power will stay on! We are going to stay warm, nap and play with our new toys the rest of the week.  Have fun ya'll.

8 inches of snow? And people south of the border think Canada is snowy? LOL! We don't even have 8 cms (yet).

It looks like you had a fabulous Christmas, though, in spite of the weather. Hurray for all the presents and yummy treats and salmon!

And what a lovely thing to do, have the Secret Paws presents sent to the shelter. Wonderful!

Take care this week; stay safe and warm!

Wow! That is a lot of snow! We hopes that you don't catch the cabin fever from your mom! That looks like lots of great presents!

You had a lovely Christmas and the snow was beautiful (except for the strong winds and losing electricity)... that was really nice of you to request the donation of your SP to that shelter. We know all of those kitties were thrilled.

So glad you had a good Christmas. But that power off and on thing when the temps are frigid is NO fun. We've had two ice storms in the past few years, with no power for days. Gets a little chilly inside (and a little boring, too). Stay warm. Hope you keep your power.

Great pics!

We saw this and thought, what's the film about the alien monster inside the dog at the Antarctica station???? But you have kitties to keep you sane, right?

I think snow is God's way of telling us to SLOW DOWN, enjoy those around us and our homes. I love all weather extremes (i know, I am strange!)
I think your request for your Secret Santa gift was unselfish and beautiful. You made a lot of animals very, very happy this Christmas!

It looks very cold and snowy where you are. A good thing you have a nice warm indoors to stay inside and very obliging human servants.

Wow, Santa sure was good to you except for all that darn snow. But we are glad you had a good Christmas. It looks like all of you had a really good time. Take care and have a good evening.

All that snow and no power? That would be extra chilly! But it looks like you received lots of lovely things for Christmas so at least you were entertained.

Keep warm kitties!

WOW! You had a lot of snow! We had about three inches and thought that was grand, but YOU got snow! However, what better time to be stuck inside though with all those good snacks and toys!!! Can you say "party"?!?! So glad to hear that you had a wonderful Christmas and also made Christmas special for some of our homeless friends! Two paws up to you!

The snow pics are awesome. We had 10 inches of snow in one night here in Sidmouth, UK ~ but it has gone now, although it lasted 2 whole weeks!

I love the last picture! We got a few snow flurries Sunday....nothing stuck of course. The snow pictures are gorgeous, but I wouldn't want to live in it.
