Smidge here reporting on our adventure.....We have been putting a new roof on our house and the guys were here a week ago for several days working. After the first day of activity, us cats liked watching from the screen porch. The guys came back this week to work for one day on a roof project before they add the insulation. It was early morning and they swooped in with their trucks, ladders and saws, busy doing the carpentry work. Mom noticed none of the cats were visible in the porch except Al who was busy snoopervising from the doorway.
Mom went inside the porch to see what was going on. I could care less and was napping in the sun. But where were all the other white cats? She looked all over the porch for them and then smiled.
The chairs are now covered in fleece blankets so we have nice warm spots to snuggle when we sit out on the screen porch in cooler weather. She lifted up the blanket and sure enough there they were - all 7 cats crammed under the chair and behind it under the blankets, terrified of the workmen and all the noise!
Mom opened the door and there was Only, siting on Pop's golf travel bag in the cupboard. Now all were accounted for! Have you ever seen such fraidy cats before?
They finally came out as the day wound down and the activity stopped. They will be up all night for sure and keeping me up with them, making up for lost playtime!
LOL!!! I always get that bit of panic when I can't find one (or more!) of the gang. Very creative hiding! Warm and snuggly, too! Good luck with the roofing project!
Oh, we are sorry everyone was so afraid, but we understand=we hid under the bed last winter when we got a new roof at our old house=there was way too much banging and loud noises!...Very cute photos and story though=you guys are all adorable!...Hope you all got treats when it was over...xoxo...Calle, Halle, Sukki
They might be fraidy, but they are oh so precious. We hope the reroofing is going well, and is completed soon (so the cats don't have to be scared anymore)! :)
Hey sweet kitties ~ lovin' your pink ~ thanks for the reminder! :)
LOL, what a bunch of scaredy cats! Not that I haven't had my moments under the bed...!
Well, we three can surely identify with all of you! Hope these next days are quieter.
-Pip, Smidgen, Minnie
You guys got the right idea!! Snuggles on fleece is the best!!
Awww that is so cute!
We had some floor repairs done around our place and found everyone except Keiko hiding as well!!
Greetings dear friends,
I can understand you all hiding from the workers and all the noise. At least you all huddled together, except for Only and the courageous Al.
When ever a stranger comes to the house, I run and hide. Yet now that I am older, I sneak in a peak before hiding if necessary.
Thank you fro updating dad, but now there is no rush because we want you to get better first. Another day or more makes no difference to us.
Wishing you a wonderful day,
Miss Kitty and Egmont (dad)
Wow you have found such a fabulous place to hide and take good naps there! That cupboards looks great!
Stay careful and don't go near to the carpentery men ok? :)
We we fink it wuz SENSIBLE to take cover from werkmen ~ afta all Yoo don't know 'em ~ and our mom tells us NOT to meow wiv strangers.
Plus yoo look super-cute!
Awwwww beautiful Smidge!! You are truly a brave kitty for not hiding! LOL!! But your siblings are so precious all cuddled up under the seat behind the fleece blankets! Awwwwww! And Only is so cute - he felt very safe being on your dad's travel bag!!!
Me and Charlie hope you all have a great time tonight making up for lost playtime! Take care
I hide under the bed if I am frightened. Sometimes I hide outside behind a potplant if I can't hide behind the bed.
I think that is some smart thinking! When we had our new roof put on we all hid under the bed until the roofing humans left!
Lucy always hides when mum gets any workment in but I am always there to give them encouraging meows. Luv Hannah xx
MOL! Charlie is the resident fraidy cat here. He always hides when something is going on.
We hope the work is finised soon so you can come out of your hidy spots.
Oh my you kitties sound just like us. We don't even need noise to run and hide. All we need is a stranger and everyone here is a stranger except our assistant. We have a place under the house that we run too when necessary. We don't blame you a bit for being scart. Workmen are very scary.
Haha! Look at all of them squished in there!!! We don't like the worker guys much either...but we usually hide under the bed!
Totally CUTE fotos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey, guys, we would have hid too!!!!!!!! ...or Sammy would have.....Andy seems to have to check everything out when workmen appear.
tee-hee!! our mom & dad allus make a "cat count" when somethin' scary happens. cap'n nelson lapurr useta hide inna cupboard just like only, specially when there was thunderboomers. we hopes yer rennovashuns are done soon!!
It is too bad that so many of you were afraid - of course we totally understand it because we like to hide too.
You are all totally cute for hiding from the noisy men! When our beans have a BBQ or a little get together...mom runs around the house to make sure we're all accounted for!
Jadzia STILL runs away from me and everything else! MOL and it's been 8 YEARS!!!
I know this could have been a very frightening experience. But since it turned out fine, I have to say - all those kitties hunkered down in the same place hiding is just too cute.
P.S. Want to tell you thanks for commenting on Taylor CatSSSSS that you will get the word out on Twitter and Facebook about Winnie's Wish and our desperate need to find some homes.
SO MANY THANKS!!!
Yes, I think anyone with kitties has seen how afraid they can get when their usual world is invaded in any way. And all the banging and slamming from construction is annoying for us, but downright terrifying for kitties.
When we had our roof replaced, I didn't see our kitties for three days (except in the evenings).
I'm glad that your white ones found comfort in safe places. They certainly don't look too disturbed in these pictures -- they're all napping.
You sure have a nice and cozy hiding place!
Oh we understand all too well. WE had our roof replaced a few weeks ago and gosh were we all scared too.
Mom and Dad are real good about doing "kitty checks"!
So happy to meet you!
I love finding new cat blogs (I am on my way over to check out your other blog as well)
I think what you are doing for your cats is just wonderful and you are truly an angel. How lucky they are to have you.
So many people would never even think to bring in feral cats...many of them do quite fine indoors as you know!
I found you on the blog hop and I am glad that I did!

Workmen are the pits. You're right to hide.
Those work guys make LOTS of noise and really upset the serenity of the house so I can totally understand your brothers and sisters wanting to hide away. Just stopped by from the Blog Hop to say Hi.
It looks like cozy, private places to rest and hide. Around here the cats like to be in the middle of everything. Once we were doing some work on the floors and one of the cats got closed up in the duct work in the floor. I heard her meowing and we had to remove the cover and call her out. We were glad we found her before the air conditioner came on. Hugs and nose kisses from Mumsy and all the critters.
Soooo glad you were all accounted for. We were afraid the story was going to be that the workmen opened a hole and you guys all climbed through it. Whew!
My kitties also hate it when workman come to the house...they are always loud and scary!!!
Oh this is just CUTE OVERLOAD!!!! I laughed out loud to red this!! We all run outside the back when Mum has a visitor!!!
PeeEsss We found you via Brian's Thursday Blog hop...
I don’t blame your siblings for hiding. The construction must’ve been really noisy and messy! I hope your mommy was happy with the new roof, and so are you! How long did it take for the roof guys to finish the job?
