Tree Trimming Tips from Minnie

Our purrfect tree.

Mom and Pop went to the Christmas tree farm this weekend to get our tree.  We gave them specific instruction - we want our tree to be purrfect!

Pop helping the tree guy cut the tree.

When we got home, me, Minnie,  took charge of snoopervising the trimming.  I had to inspect all of the boxes and bags to make sure I approved.  We went with the sparkly look this year with lots of festive colors!

First put the lights on.  we chose white this year.  Then the ornaments and finally the garland.  Mom won't use tinsel or icicles on account of we will play with them and eat them.  They look so fun and yummy!  I let Yoko help - she is old so we let her do whatever she wants.  I can't wait to be old and get all that special treatment.

Yoko checking out the trim.

This one is from Mom's Grandma.

Mom's ornaments are old..some are from her grandmother and others from her Mom.  She gets a new one or two every year to add to the collection.  She has so many, she creates a new theme every year - sometimes just blue and white, or mainly red or just white. I think the tree came out very nice this year?  What kinds of decorations do you have on your tree?

Another real old ornament.

Our tree all trimmed.

I like this one best!
If you would like a Christmas card from us (Mom is emailing them but you don't have to wait on her)  just help yourself to the card over on the sidebar.  Hope you have as much fun trimming your tree as we did.

Demon Cat Wants Treats

Just put the treats in the bag, walk away slowly
and no one gets hurt!

It's just little ole me, Minnie, helping Mom unload the groceries - not really demon.  But have you heard the story of the the demon cat in the Capitol in DC?

There are many stories circulating about a black cat who appears in the building as an omen before national tragedies like presidential assassinations.  As the tale goes, the cat appears as a normal sized black cat to either a night watch person or security guard and grows right in front of them into a large creature with glowing eyes.  The legend of the demon cat states that the cat made an appearance before the Lincoln and Kennedy assassinations, before the 1929 stock market crash and on 9/10/01.  It seems there are even cat paw prints in the cement at the Capitol!  So is there a demon or is this just another black cat story gone wild?

We like the idea of a demon cat - stay posted for more spooky stories and photos this week through Halloween!

International Box Day!

Thanks to Zoolatry for the graphic.

Welcome to the Third International Box Day, June 30!  It's to celebrate boxes in all shapes and sizes and how great they are to sit in!  What cat does not like a box?

Georgie

It's me Georgie narrating today.  I like to sit in the box covers on the shelves in the cat house with a snugly blanket.  In the winter it is cozy up here.  I think it is Norm in the box below, Playing hard to get - he is like that you know.

Norm???

And Minnie here couldn't wait for Mom to empty the cat food box before she got inside it.
  She is soo impatient.

Minnie

Woody here thinks he is invisible and hides inside a box inside a box - like we can't see him!

Woody

Even Yoko got in the act today - she is a big box fan from way back.  She is 18 so she has been thru a lot of moves with Mom and Pop.  When the moving  boxes come out, Yoko couldn't be happier!  She hides in the best boxes until they have to use them.

Yoko

The beans always leave a box or two out in the cat house for us to play with.  Al loves them too and stakes out his own box.  He is very possessive of his boxes.

Al

Hope you have enjoyed seeing some of us in our boxes. Happy Box Day ya'll!  We can't wait to see all of your box pics.
